The database used locally in this SpamCannibal installation is available for public inspection via a DNSBL on port 53 of the name servers for "bl.spamcannibal.org", as a standard Berkeley BIND zone file, and as rbldnsd files downloadable from this site. No representation is made concerning the accuracy or fitness for use for any particular purpose. If you choose to use this data, you do so at your own risk.
NO WARRANTY OR LIABILITY: BY USING THE DNSBL, IT'S DATA, OR ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE SPAMCANNIBAL WEBSITE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE DNSBL AND IT'S DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", SPAMCANNIBAL DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE EFFECTIVENESS OR RESULTS OF THE DNSBL, IT'S DATA, OR ANY OTHER SERVICE OR PRODUCT PROVIDED BY SPAMCANNIBAL, AND ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED. IN NO EVENT SHALL SPAMCANNIBAL, OR ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES OR LICENSORS, BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, EXEMPLARY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE DNSBL, IT'S DATA, OR THE SPAMCANNIBAL WEBSITE, HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY.
The SpamCannibal Zone File contains IP addresses and ranges that have sent spam, virus payloads, or warning bounce messages concerning known spam/virus mail (addressed back to a bogus envelope sender in our domain) to our mail servers. In general this zone file does not contain IP addresses that are found in other DNSBL's since we strive not to duplicate information available elsewhere. Our border systems that run SpamCannibal daemons use various DNSBL's to reject unwanted spam and virus traffic in addition to the information found in this zone file.
See: DNSBL Stats for a current listing
of the DNSBL's in use by the SpamCannibal daemons and MTAs.
(Note: we run Net::DNSBL::MultiDaemon to optimize DNSBL access).
You can use this shell script to easily set up mirroring.
update_sc.shThe SpamCannibal zone file is available via rsync in both DNS bind and rbldnsd formats. The BIND format file is DEPRECATED because of its size and will be dropped in a few months. If you can not run rbldnsd and must run bind, consider rebuilding it with: Net::Bind::rbldnsdAccessor and using the rbldnsd formated zonefiles with bind.
